TROMP percussion festival 2010
13 to 21 november 2010, Frits Philips Muziekcentrum Eindhoven
This week Tafeltonen will be presented at TROMP percussion festival for people to join in the music making.
Tafeltonen offers an accessible way to make music and to communicate together at the table. The main question is about the role of music within a group of people. The basis for this table is a musical instrument called the tonguedrum, which is in essence one of the first instruments man used for communicating with one another. Tafeltonen came to be a collage of soundboxes, which challenges people to join in at the table. By turning the boxes upside down you change the table surface from a flat colourful tabletop to a landscape of wood. From table to musical instrument.
